Lone Star Farm - Dexter's Our first Dexters in 2011

We purchased Yearlings Bessy & Savy on 6-25-2011 from Frank Hill a PDCA Dexter breeder in Idaho. We selected these polled heifers from his herd of about 100 animals. This is the girls first day at our home in WA State.

OPEN LETTER in response to Jeff’s letter.Hi PDCA,I am just figuring out how to post rather than just reply to a posting. I want the below comments as a post rather than a reply. This is an important issue to the American Dexter Cattle breeders.I appreciate Jeff's heartfelt warning about the fact ADCA is requiring DNA testing on all animals they register. It seems some feel that DNA testing is going to produce superior cattle that are within the Breed Standard. A review of the ADCA  AI bulls…See More

I am an offical cattle breeder now with two calves on the ground and I hope to have two additional calves in June or July 2013.  Since we bred to a polled bull and have polled heifers hope to have polled calves summer of 2013.  Our first calves from the summer of 2012 were a polled heifer and a horned bull. These was the girls first calves and they did a wonder job all on their own.
